LARRY AYNESMITH performed in a masterclass for the
great composer/guitarist Roland Dyens at the La Guitarra
California Festival in Santa Maria, California.
August 2007
STEPHEN MATTINGLY joins the Board of Sierra Nevada Guitar
Society. Stephen was recently appointed Head of Guitar
Studies at Truckee Meadows Community College. Stephen
lectured at the 2007 Guitar Foundation of America Meeting
in Los Angeles.
September 9, 2006 SIERRA NEVADA GUITAR SOCIETY PERFORMS IN SUPPORT OF THE RENO PHILHARMONIC
The Society played in support of the Reno
Philharmonic on September 9, 2006. This was for a season-opening event
before the Phiharmonic concert featuring world renowned classical
guitarists Sergio and Odair Assad who performed the Concierto Madrigal by
Joaquin Rodrigo. Thanks to classical guitarists Craig Logan, Jon Arnow,
Andrew Ohren and Larry Aynesmith for performing. We are proud to perform
on behalf of Reno's orchestra.
MICAH DUNN
Micah Dunn recently received a Master's Degree in Music
from University of Nevada at Reno, and plans to pursue
doctoral studies in the future.
LARRY AYNESMITH
"Carlo's Fancy," one of Larry's recent
compositions, was recently given a world premiere in 2006
by Ana Vidovic. Larry's composition is expected be
published by a major publisher in 2008
ANDREW OHREN In
2005 Andrew traveled to France to study with renowned French Classical
Guitarists Jeremy Jouve and Benoit Maurel.
